Ghost Hunters - The Team

Paranormal Adventures is a dedicated team of people from all different backgrounds and beliefs with a common goal to investigate the paranormal. We have come together you bring you the most exciting team of ghost hunters.  You can read all about each team member below.

Steve "Pudsey" Mitten - Co-Founder and Director

My name is Steve ‘Pudsey’ Mitten, I am 27++++ years old and I live in Southampton, Hampshire.

Having had many unexplainable experiences from a young age and then going on to work at a possible "haunted" hotel where plenty of things seemed to happen that I couldn’t explain, it was a very easy decision to say YES PLEASE, when a group of local paranormal enthusiasts called one day and asked if they could come and conduct a paranormal investigation. After this I was hooked!

After continuing to have many experiences that I just cannot explain, I have since become a firm believer that GHOSTS do exist,  although I also believe that no one will ever be able to prove this whilst they are still alive!

I continued for a short while as a member of a few other groups until I was very fortunate to become involved with a local fast growing organisation where I felt very comfortable for nearly 6 years. It was during this time that Steve Hunter and myself came up with the idea of Paranormal Adventures. PA was created one day whilst sat outside a Kebab shop eating the most amazing chicken doner kebab. We had this vision of creating a group where we could share our knowledge and experiences with others, whilst at the same time enjoying our hobby. We wanted to be different from other groups. We were not and are still not interested in making money from ghost hunting. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to investigate the paranormal with a group of trusted ghost hunters, but one thing I strongly disagree with is people making excess money out of something that no one on this earth can say 100% really does exist.

After the initial set up of PA I had some personal issues in my life that needed to be sorted so took nearly a year out. In this time PA was brought to life by some very good friends Julie Rusby and Debbie Hickman, who I have worked with before and we all share the same vision for what Paranormal Adventures should be about.

I have now returned and look forward to many more personal experiences and giving my time and effort to ensure that others experience something that they possibly would consider to be paranormal.

My current favourite location has to be Preston Manor in Brighton, my best experience has been at Buckingham House in Old Portsmouth, a séance that went horribly wrong and I ended up being badly hurt by a very angry spirit, (yes I do believe spirits can hurt you). I won’t tell you the whole story now but you are more than welcome to ask me on a ghost huntThe most haunted location for me is Wymering Manor. Too many strange things happened there that are totally unexplainable.

I am now looking forward to meeting many more people, all looking for that ‘experience’ that could possibly convince them that there is something more to life than we first thought.

Ghost Hunter - Steve "the Ghost" Hunter

Steve "the Ghost" Hunter - Co-Founder and Director

Hi - My name is Steve ‘the Ghost’ Hunter. I am one of the directors of this group and an avid follower of all things paranormal! For me I don’t just believe in the paranormal I live it and experience it. Every opportunity I get I am found running experiments in my garage or attending classes on different types of medium-ship. In short I love to learn more and more about this most fascinating of all questions, What happens after we die?

I have been involved in several paranormal groups over the years as a founder or just member. Paranormal Adventures is different and exciting in ways I couldn’t possibly get before. The gulf of experience of the members and staff combined with the list of locations was to much to resist.

When people ask if I believe in ghosts, I say I am a sceptical believer. I have had many encounters with spirit forms and believe what I have seen to be real and unexplainable. I always look for a normal mundane reason why at the same time. My area of expertise in the field lies mostly in the technology. In the past we have run many live internet ghost hunts with night vision cameras giving users at home the chance to watch the spooky goings on in our nights out. These are something I have spearheaded and delivered at a technical level.

One of my favourite experiences was in the Tudor house in Southampton. I saw a full figure of a man dressed in jeans and a check shirt walk into a room. He looked at the group of us in there and then just walked through a wall! The whole group saw this and at first didn’t believe what they saw! I look forward to going back to the Tudor house around Halloween 2011!

I look forward to seeing you all soon on one of our many events!

Summer Cowling

Summer Cowling - Paranormal Investigator / Team Leader

Hi my name is Summer. I have been a team leader with Paranormal Adventures for about a year and a half now and I love it! From a young age I have always believed in spirits but I had never thought to act on the things I felt or saw. This all changed when I met my husband Simon who admitted after the 2nd time of staying at his house that there was someone else who lived with them other than his parents and him. He showed an interest in spirits and after a few things happening in his house which I really can’t explain he suggested we should go on a ghost hunt. My first investigation with the PA team was at Salisbury Rifles Museum and I'm glad that we chose to do the hunt with this company. The leaders were so lovely and even though I didn't see or feel as much as I had wanted to it did not stop me wanting to go to further ghost hunts with the company. After many ghost hunts as a customer we were asked whether we had thought about becoming team leaders and I’m glad that we decided to do it! With many great locations, the more I do, the more I experience. The team are great and it’s a great change after a long week in my full time job! I love going to all the locations but I would have to say my favourite location is Salisbury Rifles Museum… Not only was this my first investigation with the team as a customer, to me it is a great place to investigate and can be an interesting evening! My favourite equipment I like to use is the dictaphone to capture EVP recordings, dowsing rods and using things like lazer grids

Simon Cowling

Simon Cowling - Paranormal Investigator/Team Leader

Hi my name is MR SOC aka Simon and I’m the youngest in the team! From a young age I have been into the paranormal which is when I started to see and hear things. This then sparked my interest to find out more about the paranormal, so I continuously researched, read books and watched films. However fake some of them may have been, the paranormal side of things continued to interest me. The first ever ghost hunt I went on was when I was 18 to Fort Widley. This was the first time that I met Pudsey and Steve. I heard a few things on this night and had my arm tugged which didn’t put me off, just fuelled my interest even more. I attended a few more hunts with my dad and brother in law which were great experiences, but then due to starting a job working nights, going to further ghost hunts became a struggle…. This was until I found Paranormal Adventures. The first hunt I attended with the group was Salisbury Rifles Museum… The first ghost hunt my wife Summer had ever been on. After the great night had by all, it made me want to attend even more which is exactly what we did and then progressed and became team leaders. I would have to say that my favourite location which we have visited so far would be Fort Purbrook. There are 2 locations which I would love to explore; 1. Bodmin Jail and 2. Mental institutes. I have visited Bodmin Jail about 3 years ago on a day trip and we heard things there and didn’t feel comfortable in the place, which is why I would love to go there and investigate the place! Out of all of the equipment which we have in our kits, my favourite would have to be a dictaphone for EVP and the dowsing rods. I enjoy being part of the team and find it VERY interesting when the groups come together at the end of an evening and describe what they have had happen to them and what they have found out…. 2 groups with the same results can’t be coincidence surely?! It’s even better when it’s a month later, same location but same experiences!

Tasha Jones

Hi I'm Tasha and I'm one of the team leaders and from a young age i have believed ghosts exist. But it was only until I met my husband that I started to try and communicate with them, and started to take part in ghost hunts. I have been on many investigations, Fort Widley being the most regular and favourite before joining Paranormal Adventures. My favourite piece of equipment to use other than myself, are the dowsing rods. I find that if you are patient enough you can get all sorts of detailed information. The first time I ever saw a ghost was at Hampton Court Place on a day out with my family. As I was very young at this point and found out that none in my family saw what I did (or believed me) I learnt to shut it out and not really talk about it, until like I said I met Nick (my husband). Who not only believed that there is something out there but encouraged me to open up to the spirt world again. I would not say that I was psychic, but I would say that I am sensitive to the paranormal world. I love going on ghost hunts and as I said believe that they are real. But I get terrified easily, I hate the idea of doing lone vigals, and refuse to be at the front or back of a group when walking around. When we are in our area you will always find me with my back against a wall. When Nick and I are sat at home we watch a lot of paranormal shows. Once they are finished I can't move around our house, unless Nick puts the lights on for me first. I really get scared with just the thought of watching a horror film. A few years ago when Paranormal activity came out on DVD some of our friends Mr Hunter included decided that we would have a party in an extremely old and extremely hunted location called Wymering Mannor. That was great until they pulled out this DVD, and said that we were going to watch it in the music room, which incedently had the most activity in the whole man or. Well needless to say I have never been that scared in my whole life, and the fact that I couldn't sleep for weeks after didn't help.

I look forward to welcoming you on future events.

Kirsty

Kirsty Woodford - Team Leader/Group Historian

Hi,

My name is Kirsty and I fell into the whole Paranormal World by accident. After attending a few investigations with the team I started to realise that maybe there is more to this that I always believed. I am not a believer in "ghosts" but I am starting to wonder..............

My biggest passion on our events is the buildings themselves, I love to research the history of the locations we use along with lists of names and dates so we can use this information on our investigations.

Im also interested in other people beliefs and mixing with such a wide variety on our events mean I am always learning about people.

I look forward to meeting lots of people and one day may get that confirmation that spirits are about us but until then I will keep an open mind and welcome anyone to try and prove me wrong.

Kirsty xx
